A very simple way of looking at it is for high school students to study the formulas and exercises of branches such as chemistry or physics. The system is based on repeating the same exercises with small variations, which produces that when arriving at an exercise that significantly alters the structure are forced to make a much greater effort than usual. Therefore we must consolidate this practical knowledge through continuous and varied practice, looking for new exercises and raising completely new situations.

On the other hand, we can also generalize with more theoretical concepts. An explanation in a branch as closed as it is history can serve us to explain current facts or to relate them with other similar ones, producing many more associations between this particular knowledge and others of the same nature. With this, we manage to create a conceptual map much richer and extensive, understanding better each part of the matter and helping to remember it when we begin to describe the concrete question that they ask us.

To generalize is to make a greater effort to study showing a constant attention, it is something that we must have clear. The strategy is to study more and more, increasing the scope of the knowledge we have acquired. When we do not make the generalization we find that we have automated in excess what we have studied, which when recovering the attention at the moment of facing a new problem requires much more effort. This constant attention will save us an effort that in the long run will be much greater than that invested initially.
